The HID Signo Biometric Reader is engineered for real-world applications, effectively handling wet, dry, dirty, or worn fingerprints. It excels where other devices fail, capturing and reading fingerprints under challenging conditions.

HID Global’s patented multispectral imaging technology captures fingerprint images from both the surface and sub-surface layers, ensuring consistent performance regardless of environmental and skin conditions. The device's industry-leading liveness detection capabilities also prevent spoofing attempts using fake fingers or latent fingerprints.

Enhance security with end-to-end protection for each user’s biometric data. Fingerprint images are converted into a "template" (a string of data), ensuring that no actual fingerprint images are stored. These templates, whether stored on the device or server, are encrypted with AES-256.

The HID Signo Biometric Reader supports various popular contactless credential technologies, including Seos®, iCLASS SE®, iCLASS®, MIFARE DESFire, MIFARE Classic, and HID Mobile Access® virtual credentials. Each device is equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) and Bluetooth right out of the box.

Paired with the web-based HID Biometric Manager software, the device allows for easy configuration and management, including firmware updates over the network. The software also facilitates the enrollment of users' fingerprint credentials for different biometric authentication modes: 1:1 verification and 1:N identification.

The built-in door access controller functionality is limited to API partner control, enabling the deployment of an intelligent and powerful edge-based biometric solution that supports local access authorization and door control functions. The device can also support a downstream reader for secure egress via OSDP connection.
